08/09 Champions League

Liverpool and Arsenal are respectively to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League following the draw.

Liverpool were paired with Belgian former European powerhouse Standard Liege while the Gunners will meet former England boss Steve McClaren’s FC Twente in the third qualifying round.

McClaren took the reins at the Dutch side earlier this summer and the Eredivisie outfit will make their Champions League debut after beating Ajax in a play-off last season

The Champions League still eludes Arsene Wenger and Arsenal are 3/1 that he lands the trophy before he leaves Arsenal.
