Time to get new football kits united fans AIG have announced that they will not be renewing their sponsorship deal with Manchester United .

The English Premier League giants have had AIG’s logo on their shirts since 2006 as part of a partnership which, including the insurer’s sponsorship of United’s financial products, is worth 19 million pounds a year.

The company is now in dire financial straits, however, following a massive bailout by the US Federal Reserve last year and will not be in a position to renew its sponsorship when the current deal with United expires in 2010

The search for a suitable alternative has already begun, with Indian corporation Sahara having already confirmed contact with the reigning Premier League champions.

In addition, the Old Trafford outfit are keen to explore their Malaysian and South Korean links and remain confident that they can secure a deal which will eclipse the £19million contract they signed with AIG
