So Alberto Aquilani comes in Xabi Alonso as a ideal replacment.For all Aquilani’s talent - he is very good on the ball has great skill and great from long range but he is like Owen he has a bad injury record.The 25-year-old has been hampered by injury at Roma and made his last appearance for the club in their Champions League defeat by Arsenal back in March. A gifted midfielder, Aquilani made only 14 appearances in Serie A last season and is still recovering from an operation on his right ankle .
He is not expected to be fit for the start of the new season question is will it be a gamble and is he the real deal once fit? See video below
