Antonio Valencia Operation is a Success

September 16, 2010 | Filed Under: Blog

After his shocking injury that Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia suffered during the Champions League match against Rangers, the winger has had an operation to repair the damage caused today, with the surgeons calling the operation a success.

The midfielder has had to have his ankle corrected and a metal plate placed into his ankle in order to stabilise the injury which has now been fully diagnosed.

The fall that the player took caused a fracture to his ankle as well as damaging ligaments in the process, rendering the player as injured for the remaining weeks of the season but officials on the Manchester United website have said that the injury will rule the player out of action for ‘a good portion of the season’.

The fact that the club are unable to comment on the length of time that the player will be injured for would lead us to think that they are finding it hard to establish the true extent of the injury until the player is back in rehab.

Valencia’s international team doctor has called for Manchester United to supply the player with a shrink as he believes that the player will struggle to come to terms with the injury on his own, something that the club has so far failed to comment on.
