goals by midfielders Rasmus Elm and Kim Kallstrom earned Sweden a 2-0 victory over injury-hit Austria in a friendly on Wednesday.

Elm opened the scoring in the 58th minute with a shot from 25 meters (Yards) distance and Kallstrom put the result beyond doubt five minutes later with a free kick from just outside the penalty area.

Defeat for Austria has left the Euro 2008 co-host without a victory in five matches after four defeats and a draw with the Faeroe Islands since its surprise 3-1 win over France in September.

“Our first-half performance was good,” Austria coach Karel Bruckner said. “But in the decisive moments, Sweden was just better. We still have a lot of work to do.”
