Villa hit a first half hatrick as spain stormed Azerbaijan for 6 tonight in a friendly and extend its unbeaten run to 32 games on Tuesday.

Albert Riera, Daniel Guiza and Fernando Torres also scored for the European champion, whose coach struck a ruthless tone after the game.

“There is no place for pity in football,” Vicente del Bosque said. “We wanted to win and we have reached our goal.”

The match was a warmup for Spain ahead of the Confederations Cup, starting on Sunday in South Africa.

Spain hasn’t lost since November 2006 and can possibly tie Brazil’s record 35-match unbeaten run – from 1993-96 – by reaching the Confed Cup semifinals.
