Michael Ballack has revealed he will be staying at Stamford Bridge for another year.

The midfielder has not yet put pen to paper on his one-year extension but he has promised supporters he will still be a Chelsea player next season.

Ballack, 32, who was substitute for Saturday’s FA Cup final, said: “I have not signed it. But everything is OK. I will be here for another year.”

Give Carlo time: Ballack

Michael Ballack has urged the Chelsea board to give Carlo Ancelotti time to settle in at Stamford Bridge – if he replaces manager Guus Hiddink.

It has been reported the club will make an official announcement this week, and Ballack believes he will do well.

The 32-year-old said: “He has had great success with AC Milan. We need consistency. You always need time to adapt to a new manager.”
