Bayern carried on where they left off in portugal and blew sporting away tonighT.Podoski was on the scoresheet scoring a double and the goals just flew in again as it rained goals in germany.
Bayern, who won the first leg 5-0, raced into a 4-1 half-time lead helped by two goals from Germany striker Lukas Podolski and an own goal before adding three more in the second period.
Bayern’s 12-1 aggregate win beat the record 10-2 score set by Olympique Lyon against Werder Bremen in the 2004/05 season and they also became the first team to score 12 goals in a two-legged Champions League knockout tie.
The German champions were missing key players through injury but they overwhelmed Sporting helped by Anderson Polga’s own goal and further strikes by Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mark van Bommel, Miroslav Klose with a penalty and Thomas Mueller.
