Blackburn Rovers v Aston Villa 0-2 Highlights

Villa moved up to third place in the Premier League after beating Blackburn Rovers 2-0 at Ewood Park.Villa chalked up a club record seventh successive away victory .

James Milner (26) made the breakthrough when he rifled a shot into the corner after a one-two with Gareth Barry.

Rovers had claims for a penalty waved away (40) when Benni McCarthy seemed to be hauled back by Barry, and dominant Villa then clinched the points with a deflected Gabriel Agbonlahor (90) shot

Martin O’Neill admits he will not stop Gareth Barry from leaving if Aston Villa do not make the Champions League.

Barry was the subject of a drawn-out transfer saga with Liverpool last year but opted to remain at Villa, who sit third in the Premier League table.

O’Neill told the News of the World: “Having given this season, which is what I wanted, I don’t think anyone would begrudge him the opportunity.”
