Emmanuel Adebayor scored a hat-trick as Arsenal romped to a 4-0 Premier League win away to Blackburn Rovers.
The Gunners won easily in the end and were ahead in the eighth minute. Theo Walcott started after his heroics for England in midweek and his cross from the left found Robin van Persie, who slotted home. Rovers pressed for an equaliser but although their attacks were more frequent than the visitors, they were not as incisive and they couldn’t find a way through.
Ince’s side paid the price as Arsenal got their second right on half-time following a wonderful move involving more than 25 passes. Denilson put in a perfect cross and Adebayor headed past Paul Robinson in the Rovers goal.
Blackburn never really got over that body blow and it was 3-0 in the 81st minute. Emmanuel Eboue went down somewhat easily in the area under a Stephen Warnock challenge and Adebayor stepped up to score the penalty.
Arsene Wenger sent on youngsters Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere with the three points safe and it was Ramsey’s ball that split the Rovers defence and set up Adebayor for his third in stoppage time.
An emphatic victory for the Gunners but the defeat for the home side has done nothing to quell the speculation raging about the future of Paul Ince.
