Kenny Dalglish he takes the business of football much more seriously than most, and is such a perfectionist that made him shine as one of the best footballers ever to grace the english game.

He has over 14 Championships to his name as a player and manager in both England and Scotland that combined total makes his achievements virtually unrivaled in British football.

He joined Glasgow Celtic in 1967, transferring to Liverpool in 1977 for a then record fee between two British clubs of ₤440 000. He won 102 caps for Scotland, in addition to three European Cups. Unexpectedly invited to manage Liverpool while still a player, he confounded the pundits by being an instant success. In his first season, Liverpool won the double with both Cup and League and he is the only player to have scored 100 goals in both English and Scottish football.

Signing for Liverpool, Dalglish was regarded as a traitor by the Scots and with scepticism by the Merseysiders, who thought it unlikely he could fill the void left by departure of their hero Kevin Keegan.

But fill it he did, surpassing all expectations as he went on to lift an incredible number of  major trophies for the Anfield club, including three European Cups, six First Division titles, one FA Cup, four League Cups, European Super Cup and an Intercontinental Cup. Such was his influence at Anfield, and so popular was he with the fans that he earned the nickname, the King of the Kop

When Benitez departed as manager on 3 June 2010, Dalglish was asked to help the club find his replacement. Dalglish was then heavily linked with the post himself, an idea that won strong support among former players and fans. Speculation linking him to the post was ended on 1 July when the job went to Fulham’s Roy Hodgson.kenny still works close in the liverpool ranks at anfield and i still think he will get the role as the manager in the future just watch this space.

January 8th 2011 King Kenny returns to Liverpool to take over from Roy Hodgson until the end of the season, maybe a start of another great chapter in his life?

Kenny Dalglish…..Voted Best player in the History of Liverpool Football Club so far.
