One of the best team performances ever seen from a Argentina team included a stunning team goal that had 21 passes in the mix.Argentina took on serbia in the fifa world cup 2006 and took them apart with a storming 6 -0 win to reach the last 16.
Argentina took an early lead with a beautifully constructed goal that typified their flowing style.Juan Pablo Sorin’s cute backheel opened Serbia up down the left, allowing Saviola to cut inside where he eased a perfect pass into the path of Rodriguez who stabbed a first-time shot past Dragoslav Jevric.
Argentina gave a masterclass of passing skills to double their lead with the sweetest of goals. They patiently strung together 21 passes before Juan Roman Riquelme fed Saviola who slipped a pass inside for Cambiasso. Cambiasso knocked the ball into Crespo who backheeled a return pass into the Inter midfielder who thumped the ball home from 12 yards. This is one of the best team goals you will ever see.
Argentina then turned on the style and scored for fun the kind of football you would expect from such a gifted team.At the moment argentina are in trouble to qualify for south africa 2009 but lets hope they do because the world cup would not be the same without them.Just watch below and rewind the magic of 2006 a great blast from the past lets hope maradona can turn things around.
