Chivas USA: Despite losing to Toronto midweek, this is still clearly the class of MLS. Shouldn’t have much trouble against San Jose this weekend either.

Toronto FC: Perhaps the strangest week in MLS history: win two games – including one against previously unbeaten Chivas USA – and lose your coach in the process. If they win next week, maybe the owner will sell the team to celebrate.

Seattle Sounders: Nothing like a visit from San Jose to get a team back on track. A huge match this week at Chicago will go a long way to tell is the Sounders are for real.

Real Salt Lake: Sure, New England’s on the decline – but 6-0? Yowza. You won’t see a more impressive half of soccer all season.

Kansas City Wizards: Beating New York 1-0 after being up a man for basically the entire match hardly inspires confidence…

Chicago Fire: …and neither does tying a lousy Columbus side – and having to score twice in the final five minutes to get that. Very Galaxy-like.

D.C. United: Showed some grit in rallying to beat New York on the road. Now if they can avoid giving up goals in bunches…

Colorado Rapids: Had so many chances to put away the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday night but couldn’t capitalize. They’ll be missing those two extra points by the end of the season.

New England Revolution: As much as it pains me to put a team that lost 6-0 – with all the goals coming in one half! – this high up, it’s more a matter of how lousy the bottom half of the league is than anything else.

Houston Dynamo: A bye week means one week to build on the momentum of their win against Colorado the week before.

San Jose Earthquakes: A flat effort against Seattle leads to a predictable result.

Los Angeles Galaxy: Back-to-back draws on the road have to count for something, right? But fans sure would like to see a win at some point.

New York Red Bull: Gutty performances in two games this past week, but the name of the game is results and Red Bull wound up with zero points to show for their effort.

Columbus Crew: They were on their way to a possible season-changing victory against Chicago before a last-minute collapse. Bad teams find a way to lose points at the last minute.
