Manchester city 3 Burnley 3

What a game this one was Manchester City shared a wonder 3-3 draw with Burnley today.
Graham Alexander had opened the scoring from the spot before Steven Fletcher put the hosts even futher in front and a real shocker was on the cards.

City turned the situation around quick Shaun Wright-Phillips’s lucky deflection gave City one back just before the break, and two goals in three minutes from Kolo Toure and no fire Craig Bellamy helped the hosts get their noses in front.

City looked to have the game in the bag and a memorable comeback win, until at the death Kevin McDonald powered home from close range to earn the Clarets a well derserved point. Mark Hughes was delighted with the way his side fought back  see video

Aston Villa 5 Bolton 1

Ashley Young Gabriel Agbonlahor, John Carew, James Milner and Carlos Cuellar all scored for villa today, with Johan Elmander the only one on target for Bolton as villa took bolton to the cleaners with a great home win.
Villa capitalised on very bad defending by their former players Gary Cahill and Zat Knight for two of the goals and hit a comedy fourth.
Milner stepped up to take the penalty but Jaaskelainen made a great . Agbonlahor should have tucked away the rebound but his effort hit the post and, with Bolton not clearing their lines, Milner was able to prod in the loose bal.

Not a nice return for old villa players but a great 3 points for much needed aston villa who return to winning ways

Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill is pleased at having seen his side romp to a 5-1 victory over Bolton at Villa Park.See video

Blackburn 3 Portsmouth 1

Blackburn moved out of the bottom after coming from behind to defeat bottom club Portsmouth in a good win for them.

Pompey started brightly with on loan Jamie O’Hara putting them ahead with a low shot from Aruna Dindane’s pass.

Rovers made changes at the break and they paid off when Jason Roberts hit home the first , Ryan Nelsen headed them ahead and a second goal from Roberts to give Rovers a come-from-behind victory for the third home game in succession.

Sam Allardyce was delighted to see his half-time substitutions make a huge impact on the game  see video

Tottenham 2 Sunderland 0

Heurelho Gomes was the Spurs hero as he saved x spurs Darren Bent’s penalty to spoil the his White Hart Lane return.

Robbie Keane put Spurs ahead after his initial effort had been parried by Craig Gordon , before Andy Reid hit the home post with a 30-yard volley.

Bent was brought down by Gomes, who made amends by saving the forward’s penalty, and it proved crucial as Tom Huddlestone slammed in a second at the end .Sunderland, who contributed a great deal to an entertaining match, also hit the post and had a second penalty appeal turned down.

Wolves 1 Arsenal 4

Arsenal moved up to second place in the table with a  another good away win.

The Gunners went ahead when Roland Zubar turned the ball into his own net  and Jody Craddock then deflected Eduardo’s lob over his own keeper it was bad luck on wolves really.

On form Cesc Fabregas rifled home after good work from young  Aaron Ramsey to make it three and Andrey Arshavin drilled in another , before Craddock headed home a late consolation .
