Arsenal clinched their place in the last eight of the Carling Cup after a great battle with liverpool tonight as both teams gave their youngsters a run out.

The first goal came from a mistake and arsenal took full advantage of a Andriy Voronin’s poor pass to fire a shot in off the post and claim his first senior goal for the Gunners.

Reds left-back Emiliano Insua levelled with a dipping  stunning volleyall of 25 yards , but Nicklas Bendtner lashed home the winner from a narrow angle .Babel should have scored from a Kuyt cross but he missed the ball completely as Liverpool did push on in the end but arsenal played some good football all match and held off  liverpool until the end.A plus point for liverpool Alberto Aquilani came on in the second half  and had a good shout for a penalty.Arsenal continued their impressive record of not losing to Liverpool at home since February 2000

Bolton had almost levelled when Matthew Taylor’s effort was saved by the face of Hilario, but any hopes of a comeback were ended by Deco’s neat finish to make it 3-0 .Nine minutes later, Drogba rose above the Bolton defence to head a Cole cross in to provide the gloss finish to Chelsea’s eight successive home victory
