Tevez Celebration copycat to Juan Riquelme Top Giggio

January 21, 2010

gago tevez celebration Tevez Celebration copycat to Juan Riquelme Top Giggio Carlos Tevez celebration of his second goal against Manchester United in front of Sir Alex Ferguson was actually a tribute to a very famous television puppet Giggio the mouse.

The Manchester City striker has rejected ideas it was all thrown at fergy because of the past, and this copycat celebration has been used in the past to respect a mouse with rather big ears.

Top Giggio is called, a scary looking Italian puppet mouse who television show was popular in South America.

The Argentina international said: “The gesture Topo Giggio is not mine 100 per cent. I copied the action of my Argentina team-mate Juan Roman Riquelme and it wasn’t done to create controversy.

As you can see from the picture the statement appears a honest one

Liverpool win over spurs as Arsenal hit back at Bolton

January 20, 2010

liverpool win arsenal win Liverpool win over spurs as Arsenal hit back at BoltonBoth Liverpool and Arsenal won their homes games tonight in a midweek special in the premiership.Liverpool got 3 big points playing spurs at home for the battle for fourth spot which now puts them within 1 point of that .Arsenal came from behind to beat bolton 4-2 who at one point was 2-0 down.

Liverpool 2 – 0 Spurs
Liverpool got their Champions League challenge back on track with a 2-0 victory at home to rivals Tottenham Hotspur.Dirk Kuyt got two his first with asixth-minute opener and a late injury-time penalty to end a run of three matches without a win and ease the pressure on Rafael Benitez.Spurs did have their chances, Reina had to make a fine save from Luka Modric just before the interval and defoe had a goal not given for being offisde which was a 50/50 call.

Liverpool missed several opportunities to double their advantage before Kuyt eventually secured the points with his second goal of the night.
Benitez admits it was vital for his side to build on a spirited display against Stoke at the weekend and pick up three points.

“It was very important,” he told Sky Sports. “The players showed great character in the last game and today was the same.

“We worked very hard and created three or four very good chances in the second half.

“You could see the belief and everyone was trying to go forward and trying to defend also.” ( video here)

Arsenal 4- 2 Bolton

Arsenal came from two goals down to beat Bolton 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium to go top of the Premier League table tonight.
Bolton went into a 2-0 lead within 30 minutes Cahill with a volley and Matthew Taylor penalty gave Bolton the unexpected lead. But Arsenal stormed back with goals from Tomas Rosicky, Cesc Fabregas, Thomas Vermaelen and Andrei Arshavin struck back to give the Gunners the margin they needed to go top.
Arshavin’s goal took the Gunners above Chelsea on goal difference, albeit having now played a match more – but nevertheless a scenario which looked so unlikely following a resounding 3-0 home defeat by the Blues at the end of November, which left Arsenal some 11 points adrift.
Wenger told Sky Sports that it was a performance where his side needed to give absolutely everything after finding themselves two-nil down.

“I believe we had plenty of chances and fantastic spirit and I believe this team will never give up because I know that and they have shown that again tonight.”( video here)

Pelada The New Soccer Film Hot or Not

January 20, 2010

Pelada the film 300x220 Pelada The New Soccer Film Hot or NotA new football movie is coming out soon which looks good ,It’s now called “Pelada” and the film is close to release

Every country has a different word for it. In the United States, we call it “pick-up soccer.” In Trinidad, it’s “taking a sweat.” In England, it’s “having a kick-about.” In Brazil, the word is “pelada,” which literally means “naked”—the game stripped down to its core. It’s the version of the game played by anyone, anywhere—and it’s a window into lives all around the world.

Pelada is a documentary following Luke and Gwendolyn, two former college soccer stars who didn’t quite make it to the pros. Not ready for it to be over, they take off, chasing the game. From prisoners in Bolivia to moonshine brewers in Kenya, from freestylers in China to women who play in hijab in Iran, Pelada is the story of the people who play.

Very Powerful stuff and looks like a great film lets hope it does much better than goal 3 did :), it might showcase in the new film festival first but well worth a look do comment below.
