Cesc Fabregas not charged

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has been cleared of allegations he spat at Hull assistant boss Brian Horton after the FA Cup tie at the Emirates in March.

An independent commission has found there was not enough evidence on two improper conduct charges.

The investigation was concluded last week but the FA had not wanted to make any public statement until after the end of the Premier League season.

Arsenal fans could get another glimpse into the club’s future should rookie goalkeeper Vito Mannone be handed a debut against Stoke on Sunday.

Manuel Almunia has been out for two weeks with an ankle injury, and a knee problem means Lukasz Fabianski is struggling to face the Potters.

Mannone’s only domestic league experience comes from four games while on loan at Barnsley back in 2006
