rafael-benitez-out More bad news for liverpool fans as they lose 2-1 at home to lyon arsenal almost got the win but a late goal by az changed that.Rangers got taken to the cleaners at home to Unirea Urziceni and a shocker as barca lost at home to Rubin Kazan 2-1.

22 years since liverpool have lost 4 on the bounce but liverpool played very poor tonight as they lost 2-1 at home to lyon after taking the lead.Substitute Cesar Delgado scored an injury-time winner to stun Liverpool who also lost skipper Steven Gerrard to injury on a miserable night at Anfield.

Gerrard went off after 25 minutes with a recurrence of a groin injury, but Yossi Benayoun put the Reds ahead.

It was the worst possible result for Benitez, who watched as his side slumped to their fourth straight defeat and now face an huge struggle to qualify from the group stages of the competition.

AZ 1  Arsenal 1

Maxime Gonalons levelled for the French side after Jose Reina’s double save , before Delgado slid in a perfect Sidney Govou centre.

David Mendes Da Silva’s strike deep into time added on denied Arsenal.

The Gunners went ahead when Andrey Arshavin was gifted possession and he fed Robin van Persie, who squared for Cesc Fabregas to calmly tap home .

Van Persie forced a fine point-blank save from Sergio Romero and also tested the AZ keeper with a free-kick, before Hector Moreno headed down a free-kick and Mendes Da Silva volleyed.

Arsenal remain top of Group H with seven points following victories over Olympiacos and Standard Liege, while AZ remain rooted to the bottom of the group despite having salvaged a late point

Rangers 1 U Urziceni 4

Rangers had a nightmare tonight one of the  worst European defeats on an embarrassing night for Scottish football.

Pedro Mendes’ shot was deflected in by Ricardo Gomes but Marius Bilasco levelle  and Steve Davis saw a weak penalty saved for Rangers.

Kyle Lafferty diverted a flick into his own net and Lee McCulloch headed another own-goal, before Pablo Brandan piled more misery on the blues
