Blanco converted a penalty with seconds left to give the Chicago Fire a 3-2 win at Chivas on Thursday, capping a dramatic comeback in the clash of Major League Soccer’s divisional leaders.

Mexico international Blanco’s goal was the third penalty of the match, as Chicago retained its record as the only unbeaten team in the league.

Chivas led 2-1 at halftime thanks to a 16th minute Paulo Nagamura goal and a Maykel Galindo penalty in the 37th, with Blanco getting his own spotkick in the 25th.

Having only conceded six goals in 11 games entering the game, Chivas looked to have the game in its keeping, even after Jesse Marsch picked up his second yellow card and was dismissed in the 63rd minute.

However Patrick Nyarko made it 2-2 in the 89th minute and then Chivas conceded a penalty in stoppage time, as Mariano Trujillo fouled veteran striker Brian McBride and Blanco struck home the winner.
