Could John Terry be out of world cup with metatarsal scare

May 12, 2010 | Filed Under: Blog

The centre-back is almost certainly out of the Wembley game after being seen leaving the Chelsea training ground wearing a protective boot.Terry suffered what the Blues have described as ‘a knock’ in training today

And the club say he will go for a ‘precautionary scan’, the results of which will be known tomorrow.

Early reports did suggest Terry has broken a bone in his foot – and if this is the case it would mean he is certainly out of this summer’s tournament in South Africa.

The injury was first feared ‘curse of the metatarsal’, which has affected Wayne Rooney, David Beckham and Gary Neville, among others, in the build-up to both of the last two World Cup finals tournaments in 2006 and 2002.

Latest sky sports reports say  its just ligament damage and he still hopes to play in the FA cup this weekend.
