Danny Rose red card & huge brawl amid racist claims

October 16, 2012 | Filed Under: Blog, UK Box Update

Violent scenes between England and Serbia kicked off tonight in the Under 21 match which the Young Lions won 1-0.

Players and staff all involved, with fists and kicks flying in a 30-man brawl,  manager Stuart Pearce confirmed after the match that they had complained to UEFA about the abuse.

“Danny Rose got separated from the group and then he clearly got involved in a slanging match with some spectators. He felt he was being racially abused and there was stuff being thrown at him. Then some of the Serbian players and staff piled in – they didn’t like Rose having a go at their fans. Then it turned into a mass brawl.”
