Norway got a shock win away from home at germany.Grindheim scored the only goal of the match for the visitors .Christian Grindheim scored the winning goal in the 63rd minute, from close range at the far post after a throw-in. Morten Gamst Pedersen sent in a low cross that went by four German defenders before Grindheim connected.

Germany suffered its second consecutive loss, after the 2-1 defeat by England in November in Berlin.

The first – and only previous time – Norway had beaten Germany was a 2-0 victory at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. Germany is No. 2 in FIFA’s rankings, 57 places above Norway

Germany coach Joachim Loew was hoping Norway would play a defensive game to prepare his team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. He got more than he’d bargained for.

“Norway was very well organized, we gave them time to get 10 men behind the ball,” Loew said. “We did not play at high pace, we were not quick enough after winning the ball. We were uninspired and we did not create many chances.

“This was not an undeserved loss. But we will learn our lesson from this, I can promise that.
