Ronaldo was Truly one of the all-time greats, he first moved to Europe in 1994 when he joined PSV Eindhoven from Cruzeiro.

He was probably had his best spells at PSV and then a sensational campaign at Barcelona where he scored 34 goals in 37 appearances

He enjoyed prolific spells at, Inter Milan and Real Madrid plus a brief stint at AC Milan before returning to Brazil in 2009.

Aged 20 he became the youngest player ever to win the Fifa World Player award and go on to win the award three times.

Ronaldo will be best remembered for his international exploits, having scored a record 15 World Cup goals including both goals in the 2002 final victory over Germany.

He is widely considered by experts and fans around the world as one of the best strikers of all time.

A legend we will never forget Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima retired on 14 February 2011
