Grant was sacked as manager of West Ham United within minutes of the club being relegated from the Premier League on Sunday

The news came after the revelation that they were to be relegated from the Premier League following their 3-2 defeat at the hands of Wigan this weekend, leaving the club with a battle to keep key players while retaining their financial books inline with their income figures.

The defeat at the hands of fellow strugglers Wigan became the final straw for the club after they notched up their 18th defeat in the league, leaving first team coach Kevin Keen to take charge of the club for the final game of the season this coming weekend, a game that will have no relevance to their survival within the top league in English football.

Grant took charge of the London based club in 2010, replacing former boss Gianfranco Zola on a four year contract.

Former England manager Steve McClaren has ruled himself out of the running .

Speculation is now growing over which football manager will become Grant’s successor with Sam Allardyce, Neil Warnock, Chris Hughton and Gus Poyet all being named

Who would you think is ideal?
