 Bremen go to the final last night in a penalty shoot out Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese was the penalty hero on the night  putting hamburg out Hamburg in the semi-finals of the German Cup. After a 1-1 draw, Bremen prevailed 3-1 in the shoot-out, with Wiese saving three of Hamburg’s four spot-kicks to ensure a final berth against Bayer Leverkusen.

Defender Per Mertesacker gave Bremen an 11th lead until it was cancelled out by Ivica Olic’s strike midway through the second half.

Martin Jol’s side were reduced to ten men in stoppage-time when David Jarolim saw red, although Bremen could not make the extra man count in extra-time. Highlights below the game went into extra time game ended  2-4 to bremen on pens
