Manchester United blew away Greentown tonight with a classy 8-2 win 10 goals in an absolutely cracking match. It rained goals in asia with giggs getting a quick hatrick from the subs bench in the second half.Yet again on form Owen got a double with Dimitar Berbartov, Zoran Tosic and Nani were also on target for the English champions .

Some of our forward play and penetration was absolutely first-class so for that reason I’ve got to be delighted,” United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said.

The speed of the play at times in the first half in particular was very, very good and I think that’s an indication that we’re starting to come to a sort of a pitch in terms of fitness and timing and tempo of the game is getting better.”

Ferguson spoke highly of Owen’s play and the experience he brings to the side.

“I think his contribution and overall play of a game is definitely suited to us. (He’s) very cool in the last third of the field. He knows when to run and when to hold his runs,” he said.

“It’s not the acid test but we know that given his abilities and understanding of play over the last third of the field I think he’ll get us goals,” Ferguson added.

Ferguson, who set Owen a 15 goal-tally this season before Sunday’s brace, added that he believes the striker has been given a new lease of life by his switch from Newcastle.

“Michael’s contribution was very good,” Ferguson told MUTV.

Wilhelmsson Agreed. Jenas is certainly not world class. For me, Xabi Alonso and Carrick perrofmed very well in that role last year Yaya Toure is more of the “Makelele / Mascherano / Senna” style with great stamina, physicality, control, and short passing Carrick and Alonso provide more of an offensive spark There are dozens out there right now (Lass Diarra!) on the international stage and the best ones make their teams (and attackers) look a whole lot better really a great position to watch and give credit to.
