Inter beat Ac milan in the derby and now got 9 point clear and on there way to back to back championships.After a bright start by Milan, Inter took the lead with a goal from Adriano just shy of the half-hour mark.
Dejan Stankovic doubled the home side’s advantage two minutes before the interval, but Pato gave the Rossoneri hope with 20 minutes remaining.Inzaghi thought he had scored an equaliser in the 78th minute when he volleyed the ball into the roof of the net, but the quality of his finish counted for nothing as the linesman’s flag was raised.
Minutes later, Milan were claiming a penalty when Inzaghi went to ground under the challenge of Chivu, but referee Roberto Rosetti let play continue with Pato still well placed to score, however he shot straight at Julio Cesar.
It was a nervous ending for Inter as Milan searched in vain for an equaliser which would have kept the race for the Scudetto alive
