A makeshift England side outplayed Germany in a 2-1 friendly win at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. England took the lead in the first half Upson with the goal but the lead was taken away by a dreadful mistake .Joachim Loew’s men levelled after a misunderstanding between captain John Terry and substitute goalkeeper Scott Carson.
Wright-Phillips was desperately unlucky not to cap off a superb performance with a goal when he thumped a long-range shot off the post after a mazy dribble from halfway.
Agbonlahor was a menace all night and played very well .Bent came on and almost scored also,bent rounded substitute keeper Tim Wiese to be through on goal in the second half but the striker slipped and shot wide
Downing delivery saw Terry ghost in unmarked to send a powerful header in off the post to make amends for the equaliser. England march on 5 in a row!
“England weren’t just a little better they were simply better,” Germany coach Joachim Loew told German TV. “All in all we deserved to lose.”
