Liga BBVA 9 – 8 Africa United Chairty Highlights
Spain watched a great coming together of over 50 professional footballers at the Bernabeu stadium on Tuesday nas an exhibition match aimed at fighting poverty in Africa and raising funds to strengthen educational projects was played out in Madrid.
The Liga XI, captained by Real Madrid’s Ramos and coached by Luis Aragones, took on an Africa United XI team, which was lead by Sevilla’s hitman Freddie Kanoute and coached by Javier Clemente.
Kanoute lead Africa United, a team assembled from Spanish football’s African contingent, including Sevilla team-mate Arouna Kone and Malaga midfielder Benachour while Ramos captained a Liga side which included a number of Real Madrid team-mates Iker Casillas, Marcelo, Alvaro Arbeloa and Esteban Granero.
