Liverpool have today announced that they have managed to agree terms with caretaker manager Kenny Dalglish over a three year deal that will see the fans favourite take charge of the club on a permanent basis.

Since answering the clubs SOS call back in January, Dalglish has managed to turn the fortunes of the club around following a number of months of uncertainty that seemed to be leading to the club falling into freefall.

The deal that has been agreed with Dalglish also means that assistant Steve Clarke will also be staying on at the club for the term of the contract, ending 2014.

Following putting pen to paper on his permanent contract, Dalglish spoke out about his joy at finally agreeing a full time deal with the club, telling the club’s official website

I said when I took the job on in January that I was just happy to help the club out of the remainder of the season. Now the owners have decided in their wisdom that they want me to stay a little longer and it’s fantastic news for both myself and Steve Clarke that we have signed these contracts.”

The completed deal was conducted by owner John Henry, who flew into Liverpool from the US to close the deal, showing that Dalglish had the full backing of the club right up to the highest level.

When Dalglish stepped into the club’s managerial hotseat, Liverpool were experiencing freefall throughout the Premier League table, suffering crushing defeats amid ownership problems and in the mist of the club’s players submitting transfer requests.

Taking hold of the reigns at the club, Dalglish managed to steady the shakey ship that was Liverpool football club and since the club have returned to the winning ways that the club have been long associated with.

Fans will be pleased with the appointment after the job was handed to their former legend and the players are known to be fully in support of the manager.

Now that the appointment of the manager has been confirmed and is firmly out of the way in time for the summer transfer window, leaving the manager and the club to focus on trying to rebuild their legacy with a number of signings that manager Kenny Dalglish has already earmarked as potential signings
