Liverpool have now lost as many games as they did last season already and the 31-game undefeated home record has gone as they lost to Aston Villa 3-1.
Liverpool dominated much of the opening exchanges, but fell behind after 34 minutes when an ambitious free-kick from Young cannoned off Lucas and past a stranded Pepe Reina.Curtis Davies then headed home a disputed corner to put villa 2-0 up from poor defending from the reds.
Fernando Torres pulled one back from close range after good work from Emiliano Insua, but Ashley Young thundered in a penalty after Steven Gerrard fouled Nigel Reo-Coker.
Speaking to ESPN after the game, the Villa boss hailed a tremendous display from his side.
“I’m delighted with the performance I couldn’t be more pleased,” he said.
“I thought they put absolutely everything into the game not just in terms of effort, but in terms of skill, in terms of ability.
“To come and win here today against maybe one of the three Championship favourites was a terrific effort by all the team.”
The pressure is already building at anfield time for changes? we will see.

Disputed corner? only from the liverpool players NOT the ref or anyone who clearly saw the shot at goal clearly deflected by a defender.Stop being biased and give Villa due credit for a great win at fortress anfield .
