Dominant City scuppered Villa’s hopes of an eighth straight away league win

Shaun Wright-Phillips wasted a chance in a one-on-one to put City in front, but when he was brought down by James Milner, Elano, back in the starting line-up, scored from the spot (24).

Top-four hopefuls Villa were far better after the break, but could not find a way through, and Wright-Phillips rounded off a slick passing movement
