Eto’o could be on his way to Manchester City after Barcelona president Joan Laporta revealed the club had made a “stratospheric offer”.
Speculation has been rife about where Eto’o, whose contract expires next summer, will be next season.
Laporta told iCat FM: “Eto’o has had an offer that would convert him into the best paid player in the world. It is difficult to refuse.”
Barça have, according to reports, bid €20m for the Palmeiras forward Keirrison, with the Brazilian club’s willingness to sell the 20-year-old leading to the sacking of their head coach
Laporta claims City’s offer would make Eto’o the highest paid player in world football, a deal which may even eclipse the staggering six-year deal Cristiano Ronaldo recently penned with Real Madrid.
