Bayern won a epic penalty tonight shoot-out 7-6 to win the 2009 audi cup in a game they should have taken in normal time.Saying that united had there chances while Bayern enjoyed the better of the first half, in which Mario Gomez and Dimitar Berbatov both hit the woodwork.
United then had the better opportunities after the interval – only for Rooney and Owen to fail to beat Bayern goalkeeper Michael Rensing in one-on-one situations.
When it came to penalty situation Rensing made a great one-handed save to deny Evra, but Van der Sar responded with a save also.Rooney scored United’s 5th putting the pressure on Sosa, who found the bottom corner to force sudden death.Evans had his effort saved by Rensing, leaving Van Buyten to score the winning penalty and give them the win to a close match.
