Mexico sailed to an easy 3-0 victory over Jamaica on Saturday to take the lead in Group B of CONCACAF regional qualifying play for the 2010 World Cup.
Andres Guardado, who plays for Spain’s Deportivo La Coruna, scored two minutes into the match, converting a free kick on a penalty outside the area.
Twenty minutes later, Fernando Arce tipped in a rebound off a shot by Carlos Vela.
Johny Magallon scored in the 62nd minutes off a corner by Guardado, to give Mexico 6 points in its group.The match was moved to Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium after Hurricane Gustav caused problems in Jamaica
