Soccer will officially returned to North America yesterday as the Seattle Sounders kicked off playing the New York Red Bulls on home turf. and got a great result .
Seattle was awarded a franchise last year, with high-profile investors including comedian Drew Carey, movie and Oscar producer Joe Roth and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.The team itself includes players such as former Toronto FC defender Tyrone Marshall, Swede Freddie Ljungberg and Kasey Keller, longtime U.S. national keeper who returns to the country after over 15 years of playing in Europe.
Fredy Montero, a 21-year-old Colombian international, was the star for Seattle in their inaugural MLS match, scoring a goal in each half as well as teeing up Brad Evans for the other see the highlights below
