Portsmouth 0 – 1 Chelsea Highlights

Drogba kept alive Chelsea’s Premier League title hopes with the only goal in a hard-fought 1-0 win over Portsmouth at Fratton Park.( so hard alex gets hands on with crouchy!)
Drogba struck a late winner to keep Chelsea’s slender title hopes alive at a rainswept Fratton Park.

Both keepers called into action during a lively opening period, although it was Pompey’s David James who was the busier early on as Chelsea created the better chances to break the deadlock.

Chelsea certainly edged the first half, but the hosts had chances of their own to draw first blood; they would have done had it not been for Cech who was far from a bystander in proceedings.

On 28 minutes, the Czech pulled off the save of the match to claw away Sean Davis’s powerful drive from the edge of the penalty area before he had the final say in a goalmouth scramble as Pompey threatened to break the deadlock from a corner on 42 minutes.

Drogba drilled the ball home from inside the box after his side had been under the cosh in the second-half, with keeper Petr Cech making a superb save to deny David Nugent.

Drogba had just failed to turn in an Ashley Cole cross, while Florent Malouda and Michael Ballack went close

Pompey threw everything they had at Chelsea as full-time approached but the visitors held firm
