Highlights from the game as madrid took on Getafe and it was Getafe who took a shock lead in a fiver goal thriller in Madrid. Madrid keep their title hunt alive as the gap at the top of the league is down to three points – for 24 hours at least. Great comeback by Madrid, but Casquero should have won it for Getafe but his awful penalty cost his side. Real Madrid are now really pushing Spanish leaders Barcelona who play on Tuesday, with this astonishing 3-2 comeback win over naive Getafe tonight. With just four minutes remaining in the Estadio Bernabeu, with the score at 2-2, Getafe veteran Francisco Casquero missed a penalty in the most absurd fashion possible. And in the very last minute of injury time, Gonzalo Higuain punished Casquero for his stupidity with a thunderbolt from the Argentinean striker grabbed all three points for Real Madrid.
Thus ended the most memorable and heart-stopping game of the season – with Real celebrating an improbable win, and Getafe kicking themselves for throwing it away.
