Rio Ferdinand says will be fit for Manchester United’s Champions League final with Barcelona in Rome next Wednesday.

Sir Alex Ferguson cast doubt on the 30-year-old’s availability when he said Ferdinand would need to play at Hull on Sunday to stand any chance of starting.

But Ferdinand said: “You’ll have to ask the manager if I’m playing but physically I’d be able to, no problem.”

Park recalls ‘heartbreak’

South Korea midfielder Park Ji-Sung has admitted missing out on last year’s Champions League final was the most heart-wrenching moment of his career.

The 28-year-old did not make the 18-man squad for the penalty shoot-out victory over Barclays Premier League rivals Chelsea in Moscow.

He said: “I am happy because I am in a good team but it was heartbreaking. Now I have one more chance.”

Tevez expects classic duel

Carlos Tevez is expecting a memorable showdown between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in next week’s Champions League final against Barcelona.

The match is being billed in some quarters as a shoot-out to decide which of the duo is the world’s best player.

Tevez said: “Messi and Ronaldo are the best players in the world, which is one reason this could be such a great game. There is nothing between them.”
