Tottenham look to raid Real madrid

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is believed to be lining up a stunning £30million raid for Real Madrid trio Gabriel Heinze, Robben and Huntelaar.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy flew to Madird on Monday with agent Dennis Roach and finance director Matthew Collecott to meet with Real president Florentino Perez in a bid to thrash out an agreement which would see the trio move to White Hart Lane this summer.

 No agreement has been reached yet, negotiations are said to be continuing between both parties with Spurs said to be ’serious’ in their quest to land the trio, who are amongst nine players that have been told they do not feature in Perez’s ’spectacular sporting project’ at the Santiago Bernabeu next season.

Even if the North London club meet the financial demands of the Spanish giants they will face an uphill task in trying to persuade the trio to give up the opportunity of UEFA Champions League football and their massive salaries in the Spanish capital to move to White Hart Lane.

Indeed, it is believed that former Chelsea winger Robben, 25, and his compatriot Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, also 25, are both reluctant to leave Real and are convinced that they can force thier way into Manuel Pellegrini’s plans next season. However, both men are acutely aware that if a club meets the valuation Los Blancos have placed upon them then they will be forced out of the exit door.

While Robben would solve Spurs’ well documented problem left-wing position, Huntelaarhas the predatory instincts in front of goal that Redknapp has been craving and would allow him to sell Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent who are both deemed surplus of requirments
