Alcorcon pulled off the shock result in Copa del Rey history tonight by holding off madrid to win over both legs.The Village side Alcorcon went through 4-1 on aggregate after the most expensively assembled team in history could only beat the third divison side 1-0 at the Bernabeu Stadium.
Rafael Van der Vaart scored in the 81st minute to prevent another humiliating result but the plucky Alcorcon players worked tirelessly to keep out the galacticos in one of the shocks of the season.
Pellegrini sent out all his stars aimed to overturn the 4-0 deficit from the first leg. Kaka, Raul, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Gonzalo Higuain were all in the starting line-up but the big guns were continually frustrated by players almost unknown in their own country.

Shock of the season so far in spain as madrid go down 4-0 away at the first leg.Unbelievably, Real Madrid found themselves 3-down to minnows Alcorcon after just 40 minutes in the Copa del Rey. The game started badly for the Galacticos as they fell behind on 15 minutes through Borja Perez, then their evening got steadily worse as former Liverpool full back Alvaro Arbeloa put the ball into his own net for 2-0.
More humiliation was rubbed in when Ernesto Gomez put the third div club into dreamland with a third five minutes before the break. One of the all-time great shockers was complete when Borja Perez scored to notch his second following a 52nd minute free-kick.The pressure is really on now for Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini after this humiliating result can they turn this around in the 2nd leg big ask.But you got to say bravo for Alcorcon who played so well tonight and just shows you nothing is impossasible what a result and one they will not forget.
