Bayern got a impressive home win as they struck first in their match with champions Wolfsburg, a corner fell to Altintop outside the box who let rip from 25-yards with Mario Gomez on hand to tap in from close-range. In the second half Bayern saw their new dynamic double-act of Ribery-Robben take over. The Frenchman set new boy Arjen Robben through for the Dutchman to claim number two and the pair combined in a second super quick counter as Robben netted to kill off the game.
The ease at which Robben managed to dovetail with Franck Ribery in the Bayern attack was effortless. With Mario Gomez the head of Bayern’s new 4-3-3 formation, the Ribery-Robben partnership just behind the main striker has the potential to be one of the most frightening forward-lines in Europe
