Stuart Pearce was in the team the last time the Three Lions met Egypt at the World Cup in Italy a massive twenty years ago.Pearce was playing left-back for Bobby Robson’s side who were looking for the edge to finish Group F as winners. It was a case of draws all round going into the match with us, Holland, Republic of Ireland and Egypt all level going into the final round of games . But it was a 64th-minute winner from defender Mark Wright that gave England the group’s only victory and sent them through into the last rounds, more like this in the summer please boys

Paul Dickov 1999 GoalMany will remember this some will not but its well worth seeing again.The 1999 Football League Second Division playoff final was a football match played at Wembley Stadium on 30 May 1999 as Gillingham faced Manchester City.

The match was scoreless until approximately nine minutes from the end, when Carl Asaba gave Gillingham the lead. Robert Taylor added a second five minutes later. Manchester City, however, scored twice in the dying moments through Kevin Horlock and Paul Dickov to sent the game into extra time.

With no further goals being scored, the match was decided by a penalty shoot-out, which City won to gain promotion in a thrilling conclusion
