Togo team bus hit by gun attack Emmanuel Adebayor Shaken

Togo national team has reportedly come under attack from gunfire in Angola.Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor was unharmed after the bus carrying the Togo national team came under attack from gunfire in Angola.
According to reports the bus driver was killed and two Togo players and two medics suffered injuries during the attack.
But City have revealed in a statement that Adebayor was uninjured, although “shaken” by the incident.
Midfielder Alaixys Romao admits the players feared the worst and thinks Togo are now likely to pull out of the tournament.
We’re not thinking yet of what could happen,” said the Grenoble player. “But it’s true that no-one wants to play.“We’re not capable of it.
“We’re thinking first of all about the health of our injured because there was a lot of blood on the ground.
“For the moment there is not much news because they have been taken to different hospitals.
“In cases like these we’re thinking of those near us, of those we love because that really could have been the end of us.”
Those injured also include team doctors. The identities of the injured are not known.Competition officials described the attackers as armed robbers
Thomas Dossevi told a France RMC radio that several players were “in a bad state”.
“We were machine-gunned, like dogs,” he said. “At the border with Angola – machine-gunned! I don’t know why. I thought it was some rebels. We were under the seats of the bus for 20 minutes, trying to get away from the bullets.”
Aston Villa’s Moustapha Salifou was also on the bus is shaken but unhurt ( aston villa confirm)
Goalkeeper Kodjovi Obilale of French amateur side GSI Pontivy and Serge Akakpo of Romanian Vaslui were among the injured in the incident , Thomas Dossevi of French second division side Nantes told AFP.
“One of them (Akakpo) took a bullet in the back and the other (Obilale) was hit in the kidneys,” Dossevi told
Togo’s football team will now not compete at the African Cup of Nations in Angola after a machine-gun attack on their team bus.

Abou Diaby hit a double as Arsenal maintained their winning start to the season with another big victory.
Eduardo’s cutback picked out the run of Diaby to smash in the opener and he added a second from close range after Emmanuel Eboue’s pass .
Younes Kaboul pulled one back with a header , but William Gallas deflected in a free-kick and sub Aaron Ramsey wrapped up the rout .

Birmingham and Stoke played a goalless draw at St Andrews as both sides struggled to create chances.
Blues defender Franck Queudrue’s long-range drive was saved by Thomas Sorensen in the only first-half chance.
The Potters piled on the pressure in the second half but Ricardo Fuller hit a weak shot, while Blues sub Sebastian Larsson’s free-kick picked out Garry O’Connor but Sorensen saved again.

Kamel Ghilas scored his first goal for Hull city as they ended their long wait for a first home victory in 2009.
Elmander missed a glorious chance to put Bolton ahead as he blazed wide before sub Jozy Altidore cleverly played in Ghilas, who calmly tucked the ball into the net for the Tigers .
Altidore rolled wide and Ghilas stuck the bar, while Boaz Myhill made a fantastic double save as the hosts held on.

Emmanuel Adebayor smashed in his second goal of the season as Manchester City kept up their impressive start.
The striker latched on to Carlos Tevez’s pass and fired in at the near post for the opener .
City missed many opportunities to add to the score with Robinho going close on four occasions and Adebayor blazing over, while Shay Given superbly saved from Wovles’ Matthew Jarvis.
Sunderland 2 Blackburn 1
A Kenwyne Jones’ double earned Sunderland a comeback victory.
Blackburn went in front through Gael Givet’s 20-yard drive after Steven Nzonzi’s half-cleared corner but Steed Malbranque played in Jones .
Jones added a powerful header from Lee Cattermole’s cross and Nzonzi had a goal disallowed for offside against Chris Samba, who later hit the bar, and Nicola Kalinic missed a late open goal
Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka combined to ensure Chelsea maintained their perfect start to the season.
Clinton Dempsey fired over for Fulham before Drogba was played in by Anelka and he calmly slotted the ball home to give the Blues the lead .
The hosts struggled to threaten and Drogba slid the ball into the path of the onrushing Anelka, who rounded the keeper to wrap up the victory .
Carlo Ancelotti insists he will keep on tinkering with his Chelsea squad after watching them despatch west London neighbours Fulham 2-0 with ease.
Chelsea made four changes from the side that defeated Sunderland, including leaving Michael Essien on the bench.
He said: “It was a good line-up. Essien has played all the games, so I wanted to give him a rest. He’ll play the next game. We have to follow this line.”
City hopeful on Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor

Manchester City are looking to get his signature of Carlos Tevez before they head off to tour of South Africa on Wednesday.Argentina striker Tevez has been tipped to land at Eastlands since informing Manchester United he would not be making his “lease” deal permanent.
It is believed that Tevez, 25, will have a medical on Tuesday when he comes back from hoilday.This comes also on a day with reports flying around city are looking to bid for Emmanuel Adebayor. Hughes is keen to build a side capable of breaking up the so-called ‘big four’, and the getting Tevez and Adebayor would demonstrate they mean business.
Adebayor signed for arsenal from Monaco in 2006 and has scored 62 goals in 142 appearances for the North London club but knowing wenger he willnnot let the togo hitman go without a fight. Adebayor said not long ago he has settled at arsenal and his agent recently stated he would be staying at Emirates Stadium
