This weekend the worlds football gods Fifa announced the wearing of snoods in matches will be banned from 1st July 2011.
FIFA chief Sepp Blatter said that snoods are “dangerous – it can be like to hang somebody.”
A FIFA statement said
‘The IFAB agreed that in relation to Law 4 – Players’ Equipment, the wearing of snoods should not be permitted.’
A FIFA representative had said last month that snoods could prove dangerous to the wearer if grabbed by another player.
