Video: Ref Fails To Spot Save On The Goal Line

Now we are not saying that being a football referee is an easy job to do, infact it could be one of the worst jobs that we think imaginable but with all the abuse the referees get, you can see why this referee could well be set for a stern telling off.

During a match between Droylsden and Blyth Spartans there was a moment of madness which can be clearly seen on this video taken by a spectator at the game, an amazing diving save… Just it was done by a defender who was then allowed to get away with it.

Blyth Spartans are clearly seen throwing pressure on Droylsden and as the ball is headed around the box like a training session routine, the Blyth striker heads the ball goalwards in what seemed to be a well worked goal, only for Liam Brownhill to prevent the ball from crossing the line with a fully outstretched arm and a save that wouldn’t have been out of place in the Premier League.

Brownhill can clearly be seen diving backwards to prevent the goal on the video but it seems that either the referee had been handed a little ‘petty cash’ or he clearly wasn’t watching the game as closely as he should have been, allowing the stunning save to go unpunished.
