Video: River Plate relegated kicks off mighty riot in Argentina

For the first time in 110 years of top flight football River Plate got relegated this weekend which then sparked off a massive riot from the emotional fans.

According to media, over 100 fans got hurt during the riots with over 100 arrested, police officers were also reported injured and shops attacked.

River needed to win by two clear goals to escape dropping to the country’s B league, But only got a 1-1 draw against Belgrano de Cordoba

The club is £12m of debts and will now be forced to sell top players, the whole situation got out of control as fans started attacking there own players.
