Footballs coming home yes indeed Wembley Stadium looks set for another transformation after plans have now leaked to rebuild the legendary twin towers.

The Wembley Institution New Development Society (WINDS) has revealed £200 million plans to recreate the famous towers at a prestigious press conference in North London. The team hopes the move will turn around the fortunes of the national football team.

WINDS chairman said: “We won the World Cup with those towers and we feel that by rebuilding them we could bring some luck to the lads. We haven’t won anything for nearly 50 years so we need all we can get,” he added.

The earlier Wembley stadium, originally called the Empire Stadium, was often referred to as “The Twin Towers” and was one of the world’s most famous football stadiums until its demolition in 2003  in a massive £798 million project by Australian firm Multiplex to create the new one

The tops of the old  towers where kept in storage until the new stadium was completed i wonder why.

Construction is scheduled to begin on 1 April (April Fools Day) and is expected to be completed by summer next year.

Thanks to Doug for this one.
