Arsenal beat West Brom 3-1 tonight at the Hawthorns after a double from Nicklas Bendtner and a Kolo Toure header.
Arsene Wenger surprisingly partnered Arshavin and Bendtner in attack, with Robin van Persie confined to the bench, but his decision was vindicated as early as the fourth minute

Nicklas Bendtner scored twice to keep Arsenal’s top four hopes alive and leave West Brom rooted to the bottom.

It took just four minutes for the striker to put the Gunners head with a low shot, but the Baggies levelled with a low Chris Brunt free-kick .

Kolo Toure headed Arsenal back ahead and Bendtner added a third with an emphatic finish before a post denied him a hat-trick after the break

As the second half slowly petered out, Wenger took the opportunity to introduce Aaron Ramsey and Fran Merida, as the abject home fans streamed out of the exits.

The victory moved Arsenal to within three points of fourth-placed Aston Villa, having played a game more, while Mowbray’s side remained four points adrift at the bottom of the table
