Middlesbrough beat Wigan 1-0 at the JJB Stadium thanks to a goal from Jeremie Aliadiere two minutes before full-time.

Jeremie Aliadiere has earned Middlesbrough their first away win of the year with a 1-0 win over Wigan at the JJB Stadium.
The hosts dominated the match but a resolute defensive display helped Boro steal all three points.Aliadiere’s strike came in the 89th minute and rounded-off a flowing passing move, with Mido’s cross finding him in the box to volley home.
Earlier Amr Zaki had seen an excellent shot well saved by Boro goalkeeper Ross Turnbull and he also denied Emile Heskey with an equally fine stop.
Boro defender David Wheater did his best to limit the impact of Heskey and was especially effective in the second half in front of England boss Fabio Capello.Although Aliadiere gained the headlines, the win was possibly most deserved by the Boro defence and goalkeeper.
